Demolition and reconstruction of Cardiff Road bridge
Between December 2015 and February 2016, Cardiff Road bridge in Newport was partially demolished and then rebuilt as part of Network Rail’s project to electrify the South Wales Mainline. The reconstruction features the largest telescopic crane in the UK, from the fleet of Belgian lifting specialist Sarens.
