The Coal Authority wish to appoint a contractor to carry out a mine water pumping test in Langwith mine shaft at the former Langwith Colliery, Derbyshire, centred on approximate Ordnance Survey National Grid Reference (OS NGR) SK 529 706.

The aim of the pumping test is to:

• Test the suitability of the mineshaft for pumping;

• Test hydraulic connection to nearby monitoring sites;

• Test the chemistry of the pumped mine water at the site.

• Assess the rate of recharge to the mine workings;
