In late 2023, Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust and its partners Basildon Borough Council and Essex County Council, were granted Outline Planning Permission for a new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), on the site of the existing Pitsea Leisure Centre (The Place). Situated on Norlands Pavement in Pitsea, the proposed scheme will provide a range of diagnostic facilities, including Imaging and Endoscopy and other Outpatient services as part of the national roll-out of CDC鈥檚 across the country.
In addition, the facility will re-provide some services currently provided on the site including Community activity spaces, adult learning and a new Library.
A main Contractor has been appointed under Proc-Cure23, using a Two-Stage Design & Build Contract and they are currently overseeing design as part of a PCSA.
