II.2.4) Description of the procurement
1.7 The works proposed include minor demolition of the ground floor to allow for improved research facilities such as:
• A more fit for purpose paediatric research area.
• An isolation/ minor procedures room. • Increased pharmacy prep area.
• Paediatric WC.
• CAT 2 Laboratory.
• Cat 3 Laboratory and lobby.
• Trials, therapies and treatment area with 4 bays.
• Beverage prep area. • WC’s to serve waiting area.
The installation of 2x new external air handling units and 2x external chillers to support the proposed areas will be located on the roof in replacement to the existing pitched glazed atrium. External works will be minimum however externally mounted plant will be needed to provide the high amount of air changes needed to serve the isolation room and laboratories. Full details of the Authority's requirements are set out in the Specification in Annex B2 of Section B.
In addition to the works tendered, there is additional works for Haematology and Oncology departments linked to be costed using fixed percentages to be applied.
