After testing the waters with a Niftylift trailer-mounted boom for the past two years, Elvington Plant Hire has now bought two Genie GS-1932 electric scissor lifts and a Hinowa tracked boom.

The York-based company turned to distributor APS for advice. Tim Garland, business development director of Elvington Plant Hire, said: 鈥淲e have a really good working relationship with Mike Weatherill at APS, having purchased material lifts from him in the past.

鈥淎s relative newbies to the access industry, we sought guidance from Mike on the best powered access machines to buy. Mike really went the extra mile for us, providing advice and support on hiring the machines that helped us to secure our first customer for our new Genie electric scissors.鈥

Along with the Genies, Elvington Plant Hire also bought a Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 tracked boom lift.

鈥淲e already had a Hinowa tracked mini-dumper so we knew all about the high build quality,鈥 Mr Garland said. 鈥淢ike took us to visit the Hinowa factory and we were extremely impressed with the tracked boom product range as well as the people behind them, so had no hesitation in buying our first machine.

鈥淐rawler-mounted boom lifts look quite complex at first glance, but Hinowa鈥檚 control system is very user-friendly. Our customers appreciate the compact chassis for narrow access, the low ground pressure and the indoor/outdoor flexibility of the bi-energy drive train.鈥
