Willmott Dixon鈥檚 contract to build the Newton Leys, Fairfield and Whitehouse primary schools is the first stage of a programme by Milton Keynes Council to spend 拢160m on adding 10,000 new school places.聽 The council plams to build seven new schools and expand 12 existing ones by 2018.

Willmott Dixon is expected to have the first three open ready for the new intake of pupils in September 2016. These will together provide 2,000 additional primary school places.

The contract was procured through Scape鈥檚 national major works framework.

Managing director Peter Owen said: 鈥淒emand for schools places across the country is outstripping supply and Milton Keynes is not unique in implementing a major school investment programme. We鈥檝e delivered several programmes to revitalise schools across the country and will be deploying our know-how and skills in Milton Keynes.鈥

Willmott Dixon is working with three architects: CORDE for Fairfield, ADP for Whitehouse and Synergy for Newton Leys.
