Wates expects northern growth from B&K recruit

14 Apr 15 Surrey-based Wates Construction has appointed a new business unit director for Yorkshire and the Northeast with a brief to extend the company's reach across the region.

Paul Dodsworth joins Wates from Bowmer & Kirkland, where he spent eight years as construction director overseeing projects in the North East and Scotland.

Wates is currently building the 拢100m Central Square office development in Leeds and wants to grow its presence in new markets in Newcastle, Teesside, Sunderland and Durham.

At Bowmer & Kirkland, Paul Dodsworth led commercial and retail schemes, including the flagship Trinity Square mixed-use development in Gateshead.

At Wates he will lead the delivery of current projects, which include the new 拢35m Haribo factory in Wakefield and the 拢5.6m XP School in Doncaster.
