The stadium will be designed and built by a construction consortium comprising Vinci Construction France, via its subsidiaries GTM Bâtiment Aquitaine-Limousin and Faure Silva, and the Fayat Group. This consortium will be supported by architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron assisted by Groupe 6 and Stadia Consulting Group teams.
The new Bordeaux stadium will be handed over in 2015. It will be operated by the Stade Bordeaux Atlantique company, a joint subsidiary of Vinci Concessions and Fayat. Vinci Facilities will handle upkeep and maintenance. The PPP contract lasts 30 years.
Located in the ‘green belt’ of the Bordeaux Lac district, the new Bordeaux stadium project will pay particular attention to the landscaping of the site, which has been entrusted to landscape architect Michel Desvigne, winner of the 2011 Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme award.
The multi-sports venue will meet the standards of the football and rugby federations and be able to host international events such as Euro 2016. The stadium will also serve as a cultural facility, hosting concerts and shows.
