The Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is set to be a new home for Everton Football Club.
The enabling works were completed in December 2021. In the year since then, the stadium bowl has begun to take shape. 聽All of the steelwork is bolted into the north and south stands, terracing units have been installed and roof trusses are in place.
Laing O鈥橰ourke is working to a programme that will see construction completed in time for the club to move in during, or preferably just before, the 2024/25 season.聽
That will then kickstart a whole new project 鈥� demolition of the current stadium at Goodison Park and construction of a 3.4 hectare mixed-use development alongside Stanley Park.聽
The club鈥檚 chief stadium development officer, Colin Chong, said that progress in 2023 would not be as visible as in 2022 as the project moves on to the next stage.
鈥淚n real terms, the fit-out is starting in January, when we will start putting all the wires and piping in.,鈥� he said. 鈥淧eople won鈥檛 notice it as much, as it鈥檚 internal, but it鈥檚 equally as important to the stadium development as the roof going up.鈥�
All mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems in the stadium are being manufactured in of Laing O鈥橰ourke鈥檚 Crown House Manufacturing factory in Oldbury.
鈥淭here鈥檚 a whole host of things going to happen next year, but not a lot of people are going to notice it because it鈥檚 going to be hidden,鈥澛� Colin Chong said.
