Brock Carmichael Architects (BCA) beat off competition from a number of international firms to win work planning a marina and thousands of homes on a peninsula reclaimed from the sea in Tianjin.
Liverpool-based BCA made its first international foray when it sponsored the city鈥檚 pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai in 2010. It has since formed a relationship with Hong Kong architect Oval Partnerships and the two firms will be working together on another contract to develop an urban regeneration plan for the city of Kunming in southern China.聽
BCA's masterplan for the 52-hectare Tianjin site was chosen ahead of plans from architectural firms from all over the world. The plan includes a marina, a yacht club, a hotel, 200 villas and apartment blocks containing 2,800 homes.
