Two project wins for GECCO2 reflect increase in domestic enquiries

29 Mar 12 Ground source and geothermal energy specialist GECCO2 is celebrating two North West project wins; Hale Barns and Styal, as well as recording a sharp increase in the number of domestic enquiries.

The first project at Hale Barns will see GECCO2 install a twin HP system; 8kW and聽12kW, a configuration which will avoid the requirement for installing a three-phase聽electrical supply. Additionally the installation includes fan coli units for free cooling聽and buffer vessels and five 300-metre loops to make up the horizontal ground聽array.

The second project, at Styal, Cheshire, is a single 17kW installation with a heating聽buffer vessel and a DHW cylinder within a new renovated electrical installation聽depot, providing the three-phase electrical supply. Four-off 320-metre loops make up聽the horizontal ground array.

Speaking about the project wins, Matt Love, MD GECCO2 said: 鈥淲e are very聽optimistic for 2012, as these two project wins come on the back of a real uplift in聽domestic enquiries, particularly form the North West of England.

Rapidly increasing fuel prices and the upcoming Renewable Heating Incentive for聽domestic ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems, I believe, is motivating people聽to consider installs now, rather than later, to ensure the return on any investment聽is maximised through the remaining winter months. That said, the ability to link聽these GSHP systems up to solar thermal systems brings summer saving too through聽cheaper domestic hot water.鈥
