The framework contract, expected to be worth 拢500m over the four-year term, covers more complex works on bridges, tunnels and roads across the capital. The deal could be extended by two years at TfL鈥檚 discretion.聽
TfL said that the framework would help deliver a wide range of projects, possibly including the proposed Fiveways scheme in Croydon and the removal of the Vauxhall gyratory, as well as major asset renewal and upgrades like the A40 Westway structure.聽
Nick Fairholme, TfL鈥檚 director of projects and programmes, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to be working with Costain, Morgan Sindall and Skanska over the next four years on a range of high profile and complex civil engineering projects. Each contractor brings something unique to the table and all have experience in designing and building major schemes, which will ensure Londoners get these key projects delivered in the most effective and efficient way.鈥�
Costain chief executive Andrew Wyllie said that his firm鈥檚 selection was 鈥渁 reflection of our strong track record in applying innovative techniques in highways鈥�. During a previous framework, Costain strengthened Hammersmith Flyover, completing a complex project ahead of schedule.
Nick Fletcher, managing director of infrastructure at Morgan Sindall, said: 鈥淭he projects within this framework call upon a wide variety of expertise, including highways, bridge and tunnelling skills 鈥� all of which we are well-placed to deliver, having a strong project history with similar schemes.鈥�
Skanska operations director Mark Shopland added: 鈥淲e are proud to be involved in this framework and to be contributing towards these high profile project that will improve the road network for people in London.鈥�
