The Swedish Transport Administration, Trafikverket, awarded the 鈧50m (拢39m) contract, which begins in September and could be extended by a further two years after the initial five-year term.
The contract includes maintenance of 360km of railways: the stretch running between Simrishamn and Arl枚v, the Ystad Line from Malm枚 to Ystad), the route linking Arl枚v, Malm枚 and Lockarp as well as parts of the freight line through Sk氓ne.
Strukton Rail will have full responsibility, involving preventive maintenance of the track, electricity, catenary and signalling technology together with functional repairs in case of failures. The company will also take care of snow removal and will prepare the railway lines with snow-protection measures and points heating.
