The SSDA scheme was instituted in 1969 to recognise the high standards of structural and architectural design attainable in the use of steel and its potential in terms of efficiency, cost effectiveness, aesthetics and innovation.
The Awards promote the innovative use of steel by rewarding outstanding projects to stand as an example to others, and are the longest running awards of their type in the construction industry. All projects must have been completed in the two years prior to the year of entry.
The independent judging panel for the SSDA awards comprises of representatives from the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers and RIBA.
The winners of the SSDA awards will be announced at an evening reception in London during July.聽
