The project client is Serco, which operates the prison on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
Skanska completed the existing prison buildings at the beginning of 2012. The main living unit was the first prison building to achieve a BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) Outstanding rating. The other nine buildings all achieved BREEAM Excellent. The extension is also designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent.
Work starts this month and is scheduled for completion in August 2015.
