Greg Clark, Billy Swann and Darren Heels have each walked away from the event with accolades in recognition of their achievements at the college and from their involvement with industry competitions.
Darren Heels is no stranger to being singled out by the college having won the聽 鈥楬eating and Ventilation Apprentice of the Year Award 鈥樎 for years one and two of his apprenticeship.聽 Coupled with thisin 2008, he was also awarded the聽 HVCA鈥檚 (Heating and Ventilating Contractors鈥 Association) prestigious title of聽 鈥榊orkshire Region H&V Installer of the Year鈥.
This year Darren鈥檚 efforts have been further recognised as he walked away with the title of Best Student on the BTEC Higher National Certificate in Building Services Engineering.
Meanwhile, Billy Swan was presented with his award for being the best apprentice studying electrical installation and Greg Clark was acknowledged for his success at making it to the national finals of the SKILLPIPE Awards in the Heating and Ventilation category.
Speaking about the success of the apprentices, Stephen Bradshaw of SES said:
鈥淭his latest success shown by our apprentices is a testament to SES鈥檚 continued commitment to training. Developing award winners as we so regularly do, makes us the envy of our competitors.聽 However, it is the client who ultimately reaps the rewards as they benefit from building services professionals of the highest calibre working on their projects.聽 Congratulations must go to all three for their endeavours.鈥
Adding his comments Leeds College鈥檚 principal, Ian Billyard, said:
鈥淭he College鈥檚 annual awards ceremony celebrates both the work and achievement of students and serves not only to acknowledge the industry鈥檚 rising stars but reward them for the talent, dedication and skill they have shown in their particular field.鈥
