Through the deal, Saint-Gobain Glass India will acquire a new float plant located in the district of Bharuch, in Gujarat, together with its business assets. The plant was brought on stream in February 2010 and has a daily production capacity of 550t of flat glass to supply the architectural market.
Saint-Gobain Glass already had other plants in India: a large manufacturing complex close to Chennai, automotive glass processing plants in Pune and a new float under construction near Delhi, operational early 2012.
