The school, in White City, London, caters for children who have severe learning difficulties and disabilities. The 拢1.2m state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in the borough, and will help children develop communication, interpersonal, cognitive and physical skills.
The Prime Minister, whose son, Ivan, attended the school, said: 鈥淭hese special schools play such an important role and I know that so many parents are incredibly grateful for the work that they do. When Ivan was here, Jack Tizard was such a huge support and I am delighted to be here on such a special day.鈥
Apollo鈥檚 Managing Director of Education said: 鈥漌e were really pleased to have the opportunity to work on such a worthwhile and rewarding project and to be able to show the Prime Minister the results of our team鈥檚 work.鈥澛
Councillor Helen Binmore, Hammersmith and Fulham鈥檚 cabinet member for children鈥檚 services, said: 鈥淭he hydrotherapy pool looks fantastic and the children and young people should have a great time in the water. This is a wonderful new asset for the borough and I hope pupils will enjoy and benefit from this sensory learning experience.鈥
