The statement covers the period from the start of this year and supplements an update given with its final results in February.
The company said that customer confidence is being supported by the ongoing improvement in UK economic performance and that the mortgage market continues to offer customers the opportunity to access mortgage credit on attractive terms.
Total forward sales revenue, including legal completions taken so far this year, is 7% higher than last year at 拢2bn.
鈥淥ur weekly private sales rate per site for the period was 6% ahead of the prior year,鈥 said the statement. The average selling price of about 拢207,900 is 4% higher than last year.
There has also been a 20% increase in the level of visitors to Persimmon鈥檚 home-finder websites when compared with last year.
It has been running a 鈥楥ombat to Construction鈥 training scheme since September last year to help address the challenges of securing the appropriate level of tradespeople. The scheme provides the opportunity for leavers from the UK Armed Forces to master trade skills. At the end of March, it had had over 80 trainees registered on the scheme and expects to recruit over 300 trainees during 2015. 聽
