As part of the ‘Clean Up Camden’ day, the Laing O'Rourke volunteers scrubbed graffiti by a section of Regent's Canal near Camden Lock.
One of the volunteers, Ron, said: "Working in Camden and being part of the clean-up operation for the Olympic torch relay was really rewarding. We were pleased to pull on our overalls and come down for a session of graffiti scrubbing! Although there is still much more to do in time for the Games, great progress was made in eliminating the dirty hotspots along the canal."
Another volunteer, Charlotte, added: "The graffiti removal project was a great team event. Occasionally you come across graffiti that is an artistic reflection of social life, other times it just creates an anti-social hotspot. Here at Camden Lock we all pulled together to try and restore the historic canal path and make it one proud to host the Olympic torch route."
