Manchester-based Boohoo.com uses the internet as its sales channel for brands including Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing and Nast Gal.
Construction of a second warehouse extension at the company鈥檚 Burnley site is already under way. Barnfield Construction is expected to complete its 拢6m contract in early 2018, adding 900,000 square feet of storage to the existing 996,000 square feet. This will provide sufficient capacity for a 拢1bn net sales operation.
However, such is the rate of growth of the company, with sales more than doubling to 拢120m for the three months March to May 2017, that it needs more warehouse space still.
Consequently, it has today announced plans to construct a new automated super-site of more than 600,000 square feet, which will provide more than 拢2bn of net sales capacity, in addition to the 拢1bn net sales being provided by the extended Burnley site.聽
The land acquisition of the new site, together with the construction, will cost around 拢150m, the company said.
