In Quarter 4 of 2012, construction output grew by 0.5 per cent to an estimated value of 拢470 million, a slight improvement following two quarters of negative growth. However, construction output was 5.8 per cent lower than the same period in 2011, and 41 per cent lower than the peak output of 2007, when construction in the Northern Ireland region was valued at 拢798 million. The QCE's Construction Bulletin reported a small increase in repair and maintenance work, while activity in the housing and infrastructure sectors was broadly the same as in Quarter 3, 2012. Northern Ireland鈥檚 0.5 per cent growth rate in the sector was slightly lower than Great Britain鈥檚, which was 0.9 per cent in Q4 2012.
