Nixon Hire鈥檚 new 3.5 acre site will offer construction plant and tools as well as site accommodation and welfare facilities.
All staff from both Bradford and Wakefield have transferred to Castleford in the same roles, under the leadership of Tracey Stakes, the current Wakefield depot manager.
The site on Willowbridge Lane was previously occupied by Hewden鈥檚 crane division but although Nixon Hire bought the former Hewden depot in Nottingham from administrators E&Y, occupation of this depot has been negotiated independently of Hewden鈥檚 administration process.
Managing director Graham Nixon said: 鈥淐reating a multi divisional depot for customers in the Yorkshire & Humber area has long been part of our business plan 鈥� we were simply waiting for the right site to become available. The site has perfect facilities for each of the divisions we operate, but most importantly for our customers, as it has excellent access and transport links to major road networks.鈥�
He added: 鈥淔ollowing a spend in excess of 拢21.5m on new equipment so far this year, this depot, like each of the other 12 we operate, will be well stocked with modern equipment from leading brands. We very much look forward to offering our customers an enhanced service in the form of a bigger and better range of products than before.鈥�
