The business has been trading since 1976. Owner Derek Horrocks said that the new name was needed to reflect changes in the direction of the business.
聽鈥淭he company was founded on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire nearly 40 years ago,鈥 he said. 鈥淚ts name reflected its regional origins but, given that we鈥檙e now operating right across the UK, we felt that the time was right for a change. Our markets have grown 鈥 turnover increased by more than 拢7m last year 鈥 but the services we offer have also changed very dramatically: initially, the company was a painting and refurbishment contractor but today we act as main contractors on everything from new build projects to large scale external wall insulation projects.鈥
In recent years the business has delivered multi-million pound energy efficiency and re-insulation schemes, Mr Horrocks said, working either as main contractor or specialist subcontractor. It has been particularly successful in the field of external wall insulation and recently completed work on the initial phase of what it believes to be the UK鈥檚 largest CESP-funded refurbishment programme for privately owned housing.
鈥淲e鈥檝e been winning places on major refurbishment frameworks but we鈥檝e also been winning large-scale contracts in the field of energy efficiency and the re-insulation of hard to treat properties,鈥 added managing director Gary Lawson. 鈥淢uch of our recent growth has been built around our expertise in the field of sustainability, so that鈥檚 a key reason why we chose the name we did.鈥
