Ed Wootton joins Seddon from Galliford Try, where he began his career as a graduate trainee engineer 22 years ago.
鈥淭his is an extremely exciting opportunity and one that I could not pass up,鈥 said Mr Wootton, who will now head up the division based at Seddon鈥檚 Bolton office.
鈥淭he company has been involved in a number of prominent projects including One City Place in Chester and will soon commence on site with schemes for Stockport Council and Pegasus Life in Wilmslow. I look forward to growing Seddon鈥檚 portfolio of work with major retailers and leading developers.鈥
Seddon鈥檚 latest appointment comes as it restructures its board nationally. The firm鈥檚 first major restructure since the Seddon Group divided into three businesses in 2013 has seen the appointment of regional directors each leading divisions in Bolton, Birmingham, Stoke and North Wales.
Over the past two years, Seddon has bolstered its senior team with the appointments of Eamonn Burns and Steve Davies to head up the firm鈥檚 Midlands operations, along with Duncan Williams as regional housing director at its northwest offices.
Managing director Jonathan Seddon said the new organisation would help the family run firm to combine its traditional values with commercial acumen to achieve its regional plans.
Mr Seddon said: 鈥淓d鈥檚 appointment lays down a marker for the future of the company. We are delighted to have attracted someone of his calibre to our team.
鈥淲e have built Seddon on strong family values and it is these, along with our heritage, that have allowed us to attract some of the strongest leaders and talent the construction industry has to offer.鈥
