He replaces Richard Hardy who was promoted to managing director of BRE鈥檚 global certification business last year.
Dr Dunn was previously group operations director at Elmhurst Energy.
His aim is to grow the use of BREEAM overseas, to benefit not only BRE but the UK鈥檚 construction sector.
鈥淏REEAM is a highly adaptable framework which allows for local adaption to bridge cultural barriers,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t is making significant inroads in countries like China where we recently signed an agreement with a Chinese state developer who will apply BREEAM and BREEAM In Use on a multi-billion dollar flagship waterfront development in Shanghai. Other flagship projects in China include the exhibition centre for the new Meixi Lake Eco-City, which is being designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley to achieve BREEAM Outstanding . These developments will bring benefits not only to BRE but to the broader industry of designers, engineers, and product and materials suppliers in the UK which have the expertise that countries like China could benefit from鈥.
