New cutter for midsize machines

9 Nov 11 Atlas Copco’s new hydraulic demolition cutter CC 950 comes with a hydraulic rotation device.

The CC 950 is designed for light demolition work, knocking down masonry and lightly reinforced concrete structures, and particularly for interior renovation and gutting. With an operating weight of 920kg, the new CC 950 fits onto carriers between 9t and 16t and offers a crushing force of 55t.

鈥淭here is much that changes in this excavator class,鈥 said Atlas Copco product manager Wolfgang Hohn. 鈥淲e are seeing a clear trend towards increasingly more versatile carriers which are ready equipped with couplers for a wide range of different attachments."

The CC 950 offers continuous 360潞 rotation, thus allowing attachments to be placed in position more quickly and easily, the manufacturer says.

Mr Hohn said that offering more crushing power for a smaller machine offered machine owners and their customers a better return on investment.

鈥淭he combination of low weight with optimum crushing force is important in terms of cost-effective usage. If I can use a smaller crusher and, consequently, a smaller excavator for a specific task, then I save on investment and operating costs," he said.

Time and money are also saved on replacing cutting blades, it is claimed. As the attachment cutting blades can be rotated, so replacing them on site is quicker and easier.

The CC 950 joins the CC 650, launched at Bauma 2011 for compact excavators, as an addition to Atlas Copco鈥榮 Light Combi Cutter line.
