The partnership with S枚rmland County Council will start immediately with work on the planning and the aim is that the upgrades to the hospitals in Eskilstuna, Katrineholm and Nyk枚ping will be completed within eight years.
Work will be carried out under a strategic partnering arrangement under which all planning and implementation will be conducted jointly by S枚rmland County Council and NCC. Strategic partnering is seen as the key to higher quality and lower costs.
鈥淲ith NCC鈥檚 expertise and capacity by our side, we feel sure the project can be completed in a professional manner,鈥� said S枚rmland County Council technical manager Johnny Niskanen.
At M盲larsjukhuset hospital in Eskilstuna - the single largest part of the project - some older premises will be demolished, others upgraded and new premises built. The combination of new construction and upgrade will also be applied at the other two.
The new premises will have significantly reduced energy consumption and improved operating costs, as well as a better work environment will be enhanced and a more efficient care process.
