The buildings are intended to achieve the gold level under the LEED international environmental classification system, which includes materials, energy consumption and indoor climate.
The workshop and offices are part of ABB鈥檚 High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) works and the 20,000m2 project will house slightly more than 800 employees.
鈥淎BB set high environmental demands and NCC had the right competency to offer excellent environmental solutions,鈥 said Bo Karlsson, business manager at NCC Construction, Stockholm/M盲lardalen Region.鈥淭he new premises will provide the perfect background for ABB鈥檚 future HVDC technology and expansion in the field of power transmission. In cooperation with NCC, we will now build eco-adapted office and production premises in which we will gather all HVDC鈥檚 employees in Ludvika under one roof,鈥 said Lars 脜kerstedt, head of ABB鈥檚 property department.
The project is scheduled to start shortly and will be completed in October 2012.聽
