The project for the Municipality of Trelleborg is for the new Vannh枚g & Lillev氓ng School for pupils aged 6-16. The northern part of the building will house premises for younger pupils (Lillev氓ng School) and the southern part will be for the older pupils (Vannh枚g School). The school will also have new premises for special needs groups. Two new halls for sport, games and physical education will be built adjacent to the school.
鈥淚t will be exciting to work with NCC on this project, which is the largest in the Municipality鈥檚 history,鈥 said Magnus Ahlstr枚m, project manager at the Municipality of Trelleborg. 鈥淚t is reassuring to work with such a large company that can assign resources when needed,鈥.
The existing buildings, apart from the canteen and kitchen, were constructed in 1972 and will be demolished since they are in poor condition. A new three-storey school building will be constructed in its place. The existing canteen and kitchen will be extended and connected to the new building with a foyer area.
鈥淭he main challenge lies in constructing the school while lessons are being held at the same time,鈥 said Henrik Landelius, head of NCC Building Sweden. 鈥淎s a result, safety in and around the worksite will be a key focus area, which we will solve based on detailed logistics planning and regular briefings with the school.鈥
The architect is Chroma Arkitekter. Work will begin immediately by demolishing and moving annexes. The whole project is scheduled for completion in summer 2019.
