They are the first machines of their kind in Great Britain.

The Titan Boom combines the large deck of a scissor lift with the adaptability of a telescopic boom, with a rotating neck, and a high lifting capacity placing materials. Nationwide Platforms has invested in two versions of the model, with the 40S and 60S units providing access to 14m (40ft) and 18m (60ft) respectively.

The Crossover is a rough terrain electric scissor lift with outriggers, which is available in two models which provide access to 10m and 12m, with a safe working load (SWL) of 454kg and 340kg respectively.聽 The platform is just 1.5m wide, making it suitable for work in confined spaces, and has a built-in attachment for handling sheet materials.

The four-wheel drive scissor lift is fitted with a 鈥榦ne-touch levelling鈥 feature designed to offer extra stability. It also has a roll-out deck extension to offer even greater outreach access.

The first of Nationwide鈥檚 Titan Boom platforms, as well as its new Crossover scissor lift, were unveiled at this week鈥檚 Vertikal Days exhibition at Haydock Park.

Managing director Mike Potts said: 鈥淎n investment of this nature requires a number of considerations that we believe these platforms meet and even go beyond. Working with MEC, we established a robust process of employee engagement to launch the products internally, and have conducted customer trials and commercial testing. As a result of that, we鈥檙e pleased to establish ourselves as one of UK鈥檚 first hirers of Titan Boom and Crossover units and are looking forward to passing on the benefits directly to our customers.鈥
