Land & Marine, together with parent company Daniel Contractors, went into administration earlier this week, putting 1,449 jobs at risk.
Administrators from Deloitte yesterday oversaw the transfer of 990 jobs as contracts were transferred to third parties. 聽The deal with Murphy for Land & Marine has safeguarded another 184 jobs for the time being, many of them in the head office at Bromborough, Wirral.
The joint administrators continue to review their options regarding the remaining areas of the business.
Bill Dawson, joint administrator and partner in Deloitte鈥檚 restructuring services team, said: 鈥淲e are pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement with Murphy Group that ensures that a further 184 jobs have been saved. We have had a number of expressions of interest in the remaining elements of the group that we are hopeful may result in further business transfers.鈥
