The consultancy will also provide construction and operational monitoring services for subsequent phases of the Ankara Bilkent integrated health campus development for Bilkent Ankara Entegre Saglik Hizmetleri Yatirim Ve Isletme Anonim Sirketi.
The campus will have a total capacity of 3,662 beds. It will include a general hospital, a women鈥檚 hospital, a children鈥檚 hospital as well as a hospitals for specialist areas including cardiovascular surgery and oncology. There will also be a diagnosis and treatment centre as well as a technical services building, a clinic hotel and a new main administrative centre for the Republic of Turkey鈥檚 Ministry of Health.
Burak Sencer, Mott MacDonald鈥檚 country representative in Turkey said that the project forms part of a wider PPP programme in Turkey to deliver the Ministry of Health鈥檚 vision of a modern and efficient health infrastructure. This involves the development of approximately 30 new healthcare facilities with a total capacity of over 26,000 beds and total investment cost in excess of US$10bn.
Mott MacDonald will undertake due diligence on behalf of the lenders to assess the capabilities and experience of the consortium stakeholders as well as the consortium鈥檚 design, planning and construction, facilities and lifecycle management proposals. The consultancy will also ensure that the contractual arrangements and agreed risk allocation are in line with international PPP best practice standards and the lenders鈥� specific requirements.

Financial close for the project is due to be reached by summer 2013, with construction taking an estimated three and a half years. Once completed, the campus will then enter a 25-year operational phase.
