McLaughlin & Harvey has a 拢51m contract and joins Buckingham Group Contracting and Whitemountain as principal contractors on the airport鈥檚 redevelopment.
Buckingham Group Contracting has an 拢8m contract to construct a new 1,700 space multi-storey car park at the airport.
Whitemountain, part of the Lagan Group, was awarded a 拢13m contract in November 2015 to build a new bus interchange and improve drop-off facilities.听
Future development works to the airport鈥檚 taxiway network will also start later this year with final completion in 2026.听
The contractors were confirmed as transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin visited the site for an official ground-breaking of the combined 拢110m project.
McLaughlin & Harvey鈥檚 contract includes redevelopment of the terminal to increase capacity and double the number of shops. It will also extend the airfield taxiways to improve operating efficiency. Completion is expected in 2017.
