Dave Smith joins McLaren in April to take over from Phil Pringle as managing director-construction. He left Wates at the end of 2016 after 32 years with the company.
Co-founder Phil Pringle now becomes group executive director.
McLaren Construction Group鈥檚 newly published accounts show a 拢4.1m profit for year ending 31st July 2016 on a turnover of 拢481m, up 27% from 拢378m in 2015.
The company鈥檚 year to date revenue has already increased by 拢60m, with turnover expected to top 拢600m this year.
Other changes in the McLaren management team see David Murphy promoted to managing director 鈥 distribution and mixed use. He will also look after the Midlands & North divisions. In the South region, David Gavin is promoted to regional director.
The McLaren Construction Group plc new main board will comprise of Phil Pringle, David Murphy, Dave Smith, Maurice Archer (commercial director), Craig Young (finance director) and chairman Kevin Taylor.

We are looking to enhance our business moving forward, as we are now on the cusp of being a Top 10 UK contractor. To take us to the next level, we need to further enhance our excellent team, and Dave will add that.鈥
McLaren was founded in 2001 by Kevin Taylor and Phil Pringle who had previously worked together at Birse and then Fitzpatrick.
