The winning contractor saw off competition from Vinci and Laing O'Rourke.
The development, which received detailed planning consent last year, is anchored by a 21,000m虏 John Lewis store, which will link to the city's existing Victoria Quarter.

Initial enabling works on the site have begun with the main start on site scheduled for later this spring. The price tage, previously quoted as 拢130m by the developer, is now being put at 拢150m.
The first phase of the scheme is expected to create up to 1,000 construction jobs. A careers fair will be organised in Leeds in early April for individuals wanting to find out more about jobs and training opportunities. All vacancies will be advertised via Leeds City Council鈥檚 employment & skills service.
