Urban&Civic secured planning permission for a new hotel with direct terminal access to London Stansted Airport, following a deal to acquire a two acre site from MAG Property, the property and development division of Manchester Airports Group (MAG) 鈥 the owner of Stansted Airport. Overall development cost is 拢45m.
The new building will stand eight stories tall on Bassingbourn Road and is scheduled to open in summer 2017. With 357 beds, it will be Europe鈥檚 largest Hampton by Hilton hotel.
McAleer & Rushe contracts director Peter Devlin said that his firm had become 鈥渢he 鈥榞o-to鈥 contractor for airport hotels because of our ability to provide design-led solutions for challenging locations鈥.
McAleer & Rushe has also built Hampton by Hilton hotels at London Gatwick Airport鈥檚 north terminal, at Waterloo station in London and in Bournemouth.
