Gordon MacDonald has become CEO of the business that designs and installs temporary works and infrastructure monitoring services for contractors in the UK. He was managing director of Elliot Hire, and two Wolsley Group subsidiaries 鈥 Build Centre and Encon. Previously he was chief operating officer of furniture business MFI and HR director of the Safeway supermarket chain.
鈥淢abey is putting high quality customer service at the heart of our company and Gordon鈥檚 extensive retail experience is exactly what we need to drive consistency and growth across the UK Hire business,鈥 said Stacey. 鈥淗e will bring in a lot of what is common practice in the retail sector to the construction industry, helping us to focus on delivering excellent service to our customers.鈥
In Australia, Brendon Flaxman has been appointed CEO of Mabey Pty, which is headquartered in Brisbane and serves the Australian and New Zealand construction markets with groundworks support and bridging. He has more than 20 years鈥 experience in the construction services and property sectors. He joined Mabey in 2012 through the acquisition of Aplant, serving as national operations director responsible for revenue growth, operational efficiency and safety.
Previously he was a franchise managing director at Century 21 Real Estate. 鈥淏y focusing on our customers, Mabey Pty is well positioned to expand its business here in Australia and New Zealand by expanding our range of products, including bridging, and engineered services,鈥澛爃e said.
