The plant hire company tendered the order to meet its expansion plans and increasing demand from the construction sector. The tender value of 拢57.3m included 拢40m excavators.聽 Kubota was awarded the whole contract and will be supplying a range of its Stage IIIB compliant machines in the 8t, 5t, 3.5t and 1.5t categories.聽聽
Mark Kennedy, operations manager at Lynch Plant, said: 鈥淭he construction sector has been tough in the last few years but confidence is definitely returning to the market, so it鈥檚 vital we have the right equipment and fleet available to meet the needs of our customers.
鈥淎lready, our plant hire sales are up 27% on last year and we expect this to grow further throughout the year.聽 This is being driven by increased revenue from haulage projects, major contracts being undertaken on the UK鈥檚 rail and road infrastructure, as well as emergency works being carried out on flood defense systems.鈥�
A key machine selected by Lynch was Kubota鈥檚 KX080-4 excavator, which has an operating weight of 8.7 tonnes and is one of the most powerful in Kubota鈥檚 range.
Kennedy added: 鈥淧reviously, Lynch Plant used to mix and match mini-excavator suppliers but this year we decided to award the whole contract in this weight category to Kubota.
鈥淲e choose Kubota because the company is renowned in the construction market for providing the most innovative, reliable and highest quality products on the market.聽 Operator confidence in the machines is second to none, they know that they will get the job done, time and again, no whatever the application. Other factors that were critical in the decision making process were all the machines needed to meet Stage IIIB compliance and it was also important they retained good re-sale values.聽 The fact that Kubota excavators hold their value in the re-sale market better than any other manufacturer鈥檚 equipment adds additional value in the long run.鈥�
