The 拢5.6m contract has been awarded to Lovell by Parkway Green Housing Trust after a competitive tender process.
The New Foxfield development will create 44, two-, three- and four-bedroom houses; eight two-bedroom bungalows and 16 two-bedroom apartments. All the properties will be for social and affordable rent through Parkway Green. The site was previously occupied by Orlit pre-cast reinforced concrete homes, which have been demolished.
The 68-week construction programme for the new development is part funded by the government鈥檚 affordable homes programme and will be delivered through the JV North Partnership. The architect is Bernard Taylor Partnership.
Parkway Green chief executive Nigel Wilson said: 鈥淲e are delighted that building has now started on 68 new homes for the Trust - our biggest new-build project to date. We want to leave a lasting legacy in our communities and this development will provide more affordable social housing in Wythenshawe and help improve the area.鈥�
