The company, which has its regional office at City West Office Park in Gelderd Road, Leeds, took the top prize in the Health and Safety categoryat the event which is organised by the Chartered Institute of Building. Now in its third year, the Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Awards recognises the professionalism, excellence and innovation of construction firms, developers and supply chain members working in the region.
Lovell received the award for the outstanding levels of health and safety it has maintained while building a number of new housing developments in South Yorkshire. Regional health and safety advisor Matt Jarvis accepted the award on the company鈥檚 behalf at a specially-arranged ceremony held at Sheffield City Hall which was attended by almost 400 guests.

Key projects for Lovell in South Yorkshire include a拢3.8 million affordable homes scheme at the Scowerdons Estate, Sheffield, for Home Group and Sheffield City Council. 聽The company is also building a 拢3.5 million affordable housing development at Wath-upon-Dearne, near Rotherham, for Guinness Northern Counties and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
