The contract award follows North West Leicestershire District Council鈥檚 (NWLDC) successful bid to obtain Homes & Communities Agency 鈥楧ecent Homes鈥 backlog funding.
The five-year partnering scheme is the largest housing improvement contract the council has awarded to date. The contract is expected to start in October this year and is worth 拢17.5m to each contractor.
Lovell and Kier will jointly carry out extensive home repair and replacement works ranging from kitchen, bathroom, boiler and central heating system upgrades, to installing new doors, windows and electrical re-wiring, as part of the council鈥檚 investment in bringing the homes up to the Decent Homes standard.聽
鈥淣orth West Leicestershire District Council has a very positive and committed approach to improving the quality of people鈥檚 homes up to and beyond Decent Homes Standard and we鈥檙e delighted to be one of the Council鈥檚 chosen partners,鈥 said Lovell regional director Noel Adams.
