Turnover was down by €98m, or 1%, on 2013.
From construction machines and mining, Liebherr expects a turnover of approximately €5,374m (£4,250m), which is 4.5% down on last year. Liebherr's construction machinery and mining area comprises the earthmoving, mobile crane, tower crane, concrete technology and mining divisions. This decline is mostly attributed to a slowdown in the global mining industry, where sales fell particularly sharply in 2014.
Liebherr’s other businesses – including maritime cranes, aerospace and transportation systems, machine tools and automation systems, domestic appliances (fridges) and hotels – collectively saw growth of 5% to €3,492m
Employee numbers grew by 1,800 to approximately 41,000 during the year.
