With the floors of the new hospital having reduced point loadings, Astins needed lightweight and versatile machines to install dry line walling. They also needed to be narrow enough to pass through standard doorways.
After a site visit, AFI specified the Bravi Leonardo and arranged for Astins to see it in operation at AFI鈥檚 nearby Glasgow depot.
Astins site manager Stewart Smart said: 鈥淲e have been impressed with the versatility and performance of the Leonardo machines and it has been a real benefit to us that AFI has a depot local to our contract.鈥�
The Italian-made battery-powered, self-propelled Leonardo has a working height of 4.9m, weighs only 450kg and can turn within its own axis.
