The scam site is for a fictitious company in Ghana. 鈥淜omatsu Ltd does not have a subsidiary or affiliate called 鈥楰omatsu Global Mining And Construction Company Ghana鈥� and has no connection with such company,鈥� it said. 鈥淭he website mentioned above is using data copied from Komatsu's official website without granted permission or authority.鈥�
Komatsu added that it never uses free, web-based email accounts (e.g., Outlook.com, Gmail.com, Yahoo.com) or requests via an email a payment of money in relation to the hiring process.
People are receiving emails requesting they provide personal information such as their full names, scans of their passports and phone number.
Komatsu is working with law enforcement authorities to have the fraudulent website shut down.and advises that people should not respond to emails coming from 鈥�Komatsu Global Mining And Construction Company Ghana鈥�.
