It is engaged in keeping construction equipment in operation in the affected areas as well as offering relief assistance largely in the form of lending construction equipment, forklift trucks, temporary housing units, power generators and other equipment, all free of charge. 聽It has also donated prefabricated structures for use as a temporary clinic and care centers, and provided other assistance.
Komatsu is anticipating that it will receive requests for equipment from the municipal governments for some time. It will continue to offer additional assistance in a similar form, centred on free-of-charge lending of Komatsu Group's equipment and facilities, worth JPY800m (拢6.4m), bringing the value of the total 聽assistance to JPY1.6bn.
