M+W secured the 拢105m main contract in July for the pharmaceutical giant鈥檚 new facility. Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick has been brought in for works including the installation of a new ventilation system, small power and lighting systems, fire and intruder alarms and a building management system.
RB, formerly Reckitt Benckiser, has been in Hull since 1840. The new 13,000 m2 building will house a 鈥榞ood manufacturing practice鈥 (GMP) healthcare development facility for the Dettol-to-Durex conglomerate.
Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick managing director Simon Lafferty said: 鈥淭his facility will be a flagship building and will allow us to showcase our wide range of mechanical and electrical expertise, including our design team鈥檚 knowledge of hi-tech and process sectors. We have collaborated with M+W Group to produce a joint BIM strategy, as well as detailed programme and commissioning plans to facilitate their needs both in the construction phase and beyond.鈥
