The Design and Build project will create three floors of new gallery space, new educational areas,聽a street level cafe and bar, a shop in the basement and聽a new passenger lift, fire escape and staircase. The four flights of staircases and two landings were manufactured off-site by Milbank Ltd, and the crane used for the lift was a Spierings SK 1265 AT6. The completed structure will comprise of a basement and six stories.
The works started in November 2010 and are due for completion later this year.聽
