The Sofia wind farm will have 100 turbines on Dogger Bank in the North Sea.聽 Hundreds of kilometres of cables will connect them to each other and to an onshore converter station to be built by Kier by the Wilton industrial park near Redcar.
The project area and compound is 34,000 sqm and works will include civil engineering and building construction works for the valve halls, control building and ancillary buildings, including the installation of all associated building services, heating, cooling and building management systems.
Kier鈥檚 works start on site in early 2022, with the onshore converter station scheduled to complete mid-2025.
