Championship bike races began at the Midlands鈥 premier race venue last month after resurfacing of the 1.4-mile track that organisers say will see lap times tumble for the 2011 season. Some 3,000 tonnes of surfacing material was laid, overall.聽
Mallory Park general manager, John Ward, is delighted with the result. 鈥淭he quality is first rate and is just what was required. A complete resurface of a race track is always a little daunting. Will the new surface work? Will it be grippy? Will it be slippery? Competitors say the surface is smoother than the old and has a lot more grip.鈥澛
